Mikayla Denault

Mikayla Denault is an education reporter for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University majoring in Journalism and Political Science with a minor in Design. Mikayla is a reporter for Northwestern News Network and works as a communications/editorial assistant for Northwestern’s Political Science Department. She has also interned at WBOC-TV 16 News in Salisbury, Maryland.

Yiming Fu

Yiming Fu is a reporter on the living beat, covering housing and transportation for Medill News Service. He is a sophomore studying Journalism and Data Science at Northwestern University. He has worked for The Daily Northwestern and WGBH, Boston’s Local NPR station.

Jason Harward

Jason Harward is a reporter covering the politics beat for Medill News Service. The Los Angeles native is a senior at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Legal Studies. He has been an intern with KSAT-12 in San Antonio and a producer/reporter with Northwestern News Network, building skills in digital storytelling.

Linus Hoeller

Linus Hoeller is a national security reporter for Medill New Service and a junior at Northwestern University studying Journalism, Political Science and International Studies. Born in Austria, he grew up in Berlin, speaks German, English and Spanish fluently and is learning Russian. He has worked for publications on both sides of the Atlantic, reporting on elections, unrest, international relations, sanctions evasion and human rights in photo and text.

Dan Hu

Dan Hu is a reporter covering politics for Medill News Service. Originally from Bergen County, New Jersey, he is a junior at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Entrepreneurship. Dan is an editor at The Yappie, a newsletter covering Asian American and Pacific Islander politics, and his work has been published in The New York Times Opinion and BuzzFeed News.

Hannah Zhihan Jiang

Hannah Zhihan Jiang is a sophomore student at Northwestern University covering health and science for Medill News Service. She is a reporter for Northwestern News Network and previously served as social media and graphics producer. Over the summer, she interned at China Daily and Shanghai Live of International Channel Shanghai. She was born and raised in Suzhou, China.

Ali McCadden

Ali McCadden is an immigration and demographics reporter for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying Journalism, Political Science and Integrated Marketing Communications. The Rhode Island native has been an assistant editor at The Daily Northwestern and an intern with the digital news wire Zenger News.

Delaney Nelson

Delaney Nelson is a reporter covering environment and energy for Medill News Service. She is a junior at Northwestern University studying Journalism, Political Science and Spanish. On the Evanston campus, she is a city reporter and editorial board member of The Daily Northwestern, where she covers local politics, education and activism.

Originally from Beijing, China, she has contributed to The Washington Post, Le Monde and China Daily covering education, business and art.

She has reported for and served as copy chief for the Daily Northwestern. The Tennessee native has also written for Washingtonian Magazine and WUOT 91.9 FM.

Zinya Salfiti is a reporter covering national security for Medill News Service. She is a senior at Northwestern University studying Journalism and Political Science. Originally from Amman, Jordan, she is fluent in Arabic and has reported for Foreign Policy Magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times and The Daily Northwestern.

On the Evanston campus, she is a city reporter for the Daily Northwestern and has written for North by Northwestern and In Our Nature. The Texas native has also interned at Women’s Republic.
