Angelina Campanile

Angelina Campanile is a political and national security reporter for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University majoring in journalism and political science. Angelina is the executive producer of WNUR News, Northwestern’s radio station, where she is also an anchor and a local/campus reporter. She also rows and is the communications chair for the Northwestern Crew Team.

Martha Castro

Martha Castro is a national security reporter for Medill News Service. She is a junior at Northwestern University studying journalism, political science, marketing and entrepreneurship. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she has contributed to The Brazilian Report and HuffPost covering politics, health and sports.

Sneha Dey

Sneha Dey is a reporter covering immigration, demographics and politics for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism and legal studies. On campus, she is a city reporter and editorial board member of the Daily Northwestern. The New York native has also previously interned at City Limits and the Scarsdale Inquirer.

Joshua Irvine

Joshua Irvine covers politics for Medill News Service.  He is a sophomore at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, where he studies Journalism and History.  Josh has covered Evanston municipal politics for The Daily Northwestern, and previously wrote for Windy City Times.

Khadija Islow

Khadija Islow is a reporter covering immigration and environment for Medill News Service. She is a junior at Northwestern University in Qatar majoring in journalism. As a magazine writer and staff reporter at Northwestern’s student-run online publication, The Daily Q, she has written about women’s health and representation in Qatar.

Virginia Langmaid

Virginia Langmaid is a reporter covering energy and environment for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism and political science. She is the executive producer for Northwestern News Report, an Emmy-nominated broadcast program, and contributes legal analysis and legislative coverage to the Northwestern News Network.

Megan Lebowitz

Megan is a politics reporter for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern majoring in journalism and minoring in political science. Megan is an executive producer, reporter and anchor for Northwestern News Network, and she is a correspondent and associate producer for Politicat, Northwestern News Network’s politics show. Megan was a regional finalist for the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award for her article, “Laughing matters: How and why female comedians crack jokes about sexual harassment,” which was published in North by Northwestern. She was also nominated for a NATAS Student Achievement Award by the Television Academy, the producers of the Chicago/Midwest Emmy® Awards. This past summer, Megan interned at WOIO, Cleveland’s CBS affiliate station.

Alex Moore

Alex Moore is a Politics beat reporter for Medill News Service. He is a junior at Northwestern University double majoring in journalism and political science. This past summer, Alex interned on Capitol Hill as a communications intern for a member of congress. Last quarter, he joined the Northwestern News Network, where he hopes to gain experience as a reporter.

Evan Ochsner

Evan Ochsner is a politics reporter for Medill News Service. He is a junior at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism minoring in political science and environmental policy. The Colorado native has previously written about economic development for The Tri-Lakes Tribune and covered crime and city politics for The Colorado Springs Gazette.

Olivia Olander

Olivia Olander is a reporter covering politics for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern majoring in journalism and political science. On campus, she is the Politics Director at Northwestern News Network, where she produces and directs a weekly cable-style political news show. She has also produced and reported for the Northwestern News Report, including one show that was nominated for a collegiate Emmy in 2019.

Rupa Palla

Rupa Palla is a reporter covering politics for Medill News Service. She is a junior at Northwestern University majoring in journalism and international studies. On campus, she is an associate producer and anchor for Northwestern News Network, a head writer for a journalism and comedy show The Deep End, and on the executive board of the Asian American Journalists Association chapter. Previously, the Chicago-area native interned at Chicago’s Progressive Talk on WCPT and The Jam morning show on The CW network.

Zamone “Z” Perez

Zamone “Z” Perez is a reporter for Medill News Service, covering politics. He is a Sophomore journalism and political science double major. Along with writing for MNS, Zamone also is a research fellow for Ufahamu Africa, a podcast featuring life and politics on the African continent. In past terms, he has also written for The Daily Northwestern, focusing on politics and policy in the state of Illinois.

James Pollard

James Pollard is a reporter covering politics for Medill News Service. He is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism and political science. He has previously served as the assistant campus editor for The Daily Northwestern and covered his hometown of St. Louis for the Riverfront Times.

Benjamin Rosenberg

Benjamin Rosenberg is an education beat reporter for Medill News Service. A San Francisco Bay Area native, he is a junior at Northwestern University majoring in journalism and minoring in history. He has had many roles at The Daily Northwestern, mainly as a sportswriter, and is also co-president of the Medill chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Joey Safchik

Joey Safchik is a reporter for Medill News Service, covering national security on The Hill. Joey is a junior at Northwestern University, majoring in journalism and international studies, with a minor in political science. She is the news director and campus correspondent for the Northwestern News Network. She also hosts the network’s political news show. Joey received the “Best of Medill” award for broadcast, and was honored with a collegiate Emmy Award® in Chicago in 2019. Joey, an LA native, began her journalism career in high school, while interning at the Los Angeles Times. Since launching into her studies at Medill, she has interned at NBC Nightly News and ABC7 Chicago, and worked as an on-air reporter at KGET 17. Joey also traveled with Medill to the Middle East, where she reported on education, art and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In the spring, she will be traveling to Poland with Northwestern. She is also a member of the Medill Undergraduate Advisory Council.

Gregory Svirnovskiy

Gregory Svirnovskiy is a reporter covering politics for Medill News Service. The St. Louis native is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism and history. On campus, he has previously been an assistant editor at the Daily Northwestern and is currently the communications chair for Northwestern’s Society of Professional Journalists chapter. His sports pieces can be found on the back pages of the Daily and on NBA.com, where he serves as a syndicated writer for Rotowire.

Suzy Vazquez

Suzy Vazquez is a political reporter for Medill News Service focusing on gender and education. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University, majoring in journalism and minoring in Political Science. She has written articles on voter turnout, disparities in education and community policing in the Chicago area. Her articles have been published by the Daily Northwestern, the university’s daily newspaper.

Cassidy Wang

Cassidy Wang is a reporter covering housing and transportation for Medill News Service. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism, economics, and legal studies, with experience writing about community policing, criminal justice reform and affordable housing. Last summer, she interned at the Massachusetts Department of Education.

Janea Wilson

Janea Wilson is a health and science beat reporter for Medill News Service. The Detroit native is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying journalism and biological anthropology. She has previously written for The Detroit Free Press, The Trace and The Daily Northwestern.
