ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Governor Wes Moore was sworn into office Wednesday afternoon, making him the first Black governor of Maryland and the third in the nation’s history.
Lieutenant governor Aruna Miller was also sworn in, becoming the first South Asian woman elected to the role.
The inauguration was held at the Maryland State Capitol, where Moore expressed his commitment to addressing the inequities that plague the state.
