WASHINGTON – The White House on Wednesday hosted its annual celebration of Norwuz, the first day of the New Year on the Persian calendar and the start of spring.
With President Barack Obama on the road, first lady Michelle Obama addressed the guests, who comprised members in the Central and Southeast Asian, European and Middle Eastern communities.
The celebration consisted of music, dance performances and traditional food specially cooked up by White House chefs.
