The former president, baseball legend and Pulitzer-nominated poet are among 15 people who received the 2010 Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in a presentation ceremony earlier this afternoon. The Medal of Freedom is the highest American civilian honor. It recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to American national interests or security, world peace, cultural achievements or other public and private efforts.
