WASHINGTON — After a failed rule vote on the House floor, both Senate and House Republicans held a press conference on Wednesday, labeling the situation at the southern border as an “imminent national security threat.”
“I think it is a huge mistake to try and take issues like funding for Israel, funding for Ukraine, and funding for the southern border and tie that all in together,” said Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont. “That is not the way we are supposed to pass legislation.”
Rosendale and his Republican colleagues emphasized that the Biden administration must address border security promptly, or they will vote to shut down the government later this month.
