WASHINGTON — Celebrating with cookies, crafts and the Obama dogs, first lady Michelle Obama hosted military families for seasonal festivities Tuesday — the last of the Obama family’s holiday seasons in the White House.
Obama offered her thanks to not only the military families in attendance but to the 92 volunteers who decorated the White House. The East Entrance alone contains over 8,000 bows and ribbons. She spoke about President Barack Obama and her initial dream of opening the White House up to the people — and said nearly 500,000 people have made their way through 1600 Pennsylvania during the holidays in the Obamas’ eight years at the address.
