WASHINGTON – Dressed in costumes as a pig and a hog, members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals gave gave away Tuesday 150 vegan sandwiches made of meat-free ribs outside of Eastern Market. The event commemorated the start of the nation-wide “go vegan” campaign of PETA, a large animals rights organization with more than 3 million supporters in the world.
