WASHINGTON – Martin Luther King Jr.’s family, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and hundreds of others celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by demanding voting rights reform.
“The law can’t make a man love me,” Martin Luther King III said during the press conference, “but it can restrain him from lynching me.”
During the 16th Annual Peace Walk, hundreds marched with the King Family, crossing the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.
The Senate is expected to begin voting Tuesday on the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
