WASHINGTON — Thousands of anti-abortion advocates gathered at the National Mall on Saturday in the first march since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
The march was followed by the National Pro-Life Summit, a student-focused workshop that trains young activists to go into their communities and challenge abortion laws.
The summit is hosted by Students for Life, a non-profit, anti-abortion organization that has over 2,000 student groups across the nation.
Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, said that grassroots, student activism is essential to their cause in a post-Roe world.
“We’re engaging federally in states on campuses and communities to make abortion unthinkable, as well as unavailable,” Hawkins said.
